What September 11 Asks Us to Remember

Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001. Time does not make the loss less significant or the courage shown that day any less extraordinary. For the families who lost loved ones, survivors, first responders, and communities forever changed by the attacks, anniversaries can bring grief close again.

This year, San Francisco came together to remember those who were taken, honor those who answered the call, and reflect on what that day taught us about courage, service, and our responsibility to one another.

To every police officer, firefighter, dispatcher, paramedic, and relief worker who stepped forward: thank you. To the families who have carried unimaginable loss for twenty-five years: we remember with you.

San Francisco Police Community Foundation Donates E-Bikes to SFPD Officers, With Plans for More on the Way

We’re excited to share that we recently delivered 14 new e-bikes to San Francisco Police Department officers at the Taraval, Central, Richmond, and Ingleside Stations, and the response from the field has been immediate and positive.

They’re putting officers at eye level with the neighborhoods they patrol, and that’s where trust gets built, one conversation at a time. This is exactly the kind of investment the Foundation was built for: practical, immediate, and rooted in community connection.

And this first round of e-bikes is just the start. We’re now raising funds to expand the program, and every dollar goes directly toward putting more officers on two wheels in the neighborhoods that need them most.
