National Night Out
Police β˜† Community β˜† Partnership

ONE CITY. ONE COMMUNITY. ONE NIGHT.

On Tuesday, August 4, all ten SFPD district stations will come together with their communities for National Night Out: one citywide celebration of the neighbors and officers who look out for each other every day.

From the Bayview to the Richmond, it’s the same night, same spirit: meet your neighbors and SFPD officers, and enjoy an evening of food, games, and fun. Ten neighborhoods, ten block parties, one San Francisco. Together, we all play a part in a safer city. And we’re raising funds so every station can put on a celebration its community will remember β€” and you choose which station your gift supports. Every dollar goes directly to the neighborhood you pick to cover food, supplies, activities, and giveaways. Help us light up all ten neighborhoods on August 4.

ABOUT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign that strengthens police–community partnerships and neighborly connection, making neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Since it began in 1984, it has grown into a beloved annual tradition: on the first Tuesday each August, millions of neighbors across thousands of communities in all fifty states, U.S. territories, and military bases come together for block parties, cookouts, and celebrations β€” meeting the officers who serve them under warm, festive circumstances. This August, San Francisco proudly joins that tradition across all ten of its police districts.

There's something for every age: face painting, carnival games, and Rec & Park activities for the kids, a DJ spinning all evening, and a photographer on hand to capture it all. Get an up-close look at an SFPD emergency vehicle, then stick around for a raffle and giveaways. Resource tables from city agencies and community programs will be there to connect neighbors with what they need, and food will be provided by The Midway. More experiences will be announced later this month, so keep an eye out.

A block party in Golden Gate Park. Richmond is pulling out all the stops on JFK Drive. The evening kicks off with the thunder of drums as Leung's White Crane Dragon and Lion Dance brings the lions to Golden Gate Park, a San Francisco institution since 1971, and a team that has represented the USA at the International World Championships for the past 15 years.

DJs Ch33no and Grimes will keep the music going all evening, and kids can burn off energy in an Astro Jump bounce house, then show off fresh ink (the washable kind!) courtesy of the neighborhood shop Raven Eye Tattoo. Come hungry, Annie's Hot Dogs, a woman-owned SF family business serving the city since 1983, will be serving up hot dogs, and Geary Boulevard favorite Joe's Ice Cream is bringing something sweet to finish the night.

With thanks to our Richmond partners: Leung's White Crane, Astro Jump, Raven Eye Tattoo, Annie's Hot Dogs, and Joe's Ice Cream.

An evening to remember. Taraval takes over Minnie & Lovie Ward Rec Center with a lineup for every age. Kids can watch the Amazing Mr. Shap, a Bay Area balloon artist and magician, twist up balloon animals and work his magic, then bounce the evening away in a bouncy house courtesy of SF Rec & Park.

Our neighbors at the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens are joining us again this year, so keep an eye out for a special animal guest. And no one goes home hungry: Target, Lucky, McDonald's, and H Mart are all donating their time and food to keep the whole neighborhood fed. Come on out!
