Healthy Officers, Safer Streets
Caring for the police officers who protect San Francisco

San Francisco police officers face extraordinary physical and mental demands every day, yet traditional systems often fail to provide the specialized support their work requires. Through the Officer Wellness Program, officers receive embedded wellness, injury recovery, resilience, and performance support tailored to the realities of law enforcement across all 18 SFPD stations and facilities. Behind every badge is a human being carrying the weight of protecting this city, and when we care for the people protecting San Francisco, we strengthen public safety for everyone. Funding for this program currently expires in July 2026.

Built for the Realities of Law Enforcement

Traditional rehabilitation and wellness systems are rarely designed for the physical and psychological demands police officers face every day. The Officer Wellness Program embeds certified specialists directly inside the San Francisco Police Department, bringing individualized support to officers where they work β€” at stations, during shifts, inside the Academy, and through one-on-one coaching and recovery sessions.

The program combines injury prevention, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, behavioral health support, resilience education, sleep and nutrition coaching, and return-to-duty recovery programs designed specifically for the realities of law enforcement.
